2025/26 Season Update

4 Nov by Jody Proudfit

We have the made the decision to place SnowOhio into hiatus for the 2025/26 season. We thank everyone who has been a part of the SnowOhio success over the years and we hope we can find someone to carry the torch for us into the future. But we have needed to make some choice and trying to run events under the SnowOhio banner is just not in the cards this season.

For me, this has been an excellent adventure full of great people and new friendships. Above all it has been great creating an environment where young athletes can showcase their skills and express themselves. I will still be around, and you will probably see me at the top of the hill at PnP... (Michele too)

Thank you for being a part of this adventure...

Because I know you have questions, here are a few answers...
What does this mean for my athlete?
It means that you'll need to select a new HOME SERIES and participate in the events offered in that HOME SERIES in order to qualify for nationals. For many of you, Western New York is the optimal series for your membership and your participation. The majority of their events will be at Peak n Peak which is close by our Ohio footprint. You may also choose Great Lakes Series in Michigan. They have events in Metro Detroit and up I-75 in the northern mitten (IYKYK). You may also look at Appalachian Series which holds events at 7 Springs (but not all).
How will my athlete qualify for Nationals this year?
To qualify for the 2025/26 Nationals all athletes will need to qualify in events held within their NEW HOME SERIES... As SnowOhio is not holding events, we will not be sending athletes to Nationals as SNOWOHIO Series Champions. All athletes will need to earn points in their new home series and will qualify based on those points.
Why did you make the change?
We decided to make this change to ensure that we maintain the competitive landscape and offered a better competitive pipeline to Nationals. Because we have had so few events and relied heavily on athletes earning points in other regional events, we felt that we needed make a shift to ensure that all athletes are moving through the competitive pipeline in the right way. This means that athletes will be earning points towards becoming a series champion just as all other series champions earn their starts for nationals.
I have a membership for this year and need to move it. Who do I call?
Please reach out to Emily in Member Services - emily@usasa.org. She can move you into a new Home Series... but you need to do this before you compete in any events this season.
What if I have more questions?
I am still available to answer any questions and am happy to help you figure out what series is right for your situation. You may reach out to me directly at jproudfit@usasa.org.

Many Thanks!!!
